The future of Reb's son without her.

Stoke, Nelson

Just over a month ago, Reb was diagnosed with stage four inoperable stomach cancer that has now spread to her lungs and lymph nodes.

She has had a cycle of chemotherapy that wasn’t effective. She is back to having another type of chemotherapy and taking it like a boss.

Reb tells me that the hardest thing about having this palliative diagnosis, is the fact that her son, Wiremu, will have to grow up without her.

Wiremu is an 18 year-old young person, who is very talented with so much potential in life. Wiremu is also on the Autisic Spectrum with Asperger's Syndrome and at times requires support. Please help in giving Reb some peace of mind, by contributing towards Wiremu’s development into adulthood.

An account has been set up for donations to assist Wiremu with any unexpected costs pertaining to his health and wellbeing, or to assist him in achieving some of his life goals.

This is the last update I will be writing. Reb passed away on Wednesday at around 3.30am. She was comfortable and her loved friends, Gabriel and Rick, were by her side. Reb was wrapped in her favourite blanket that she has had since she was a baby. She was wearing her Oscar the Grouch jarmy pants and her 'Everything is F*****' t-shirt, that she had been saving for this occasion.

The Nelson Hospice was amazing and took the best care of our 'little storm cloud,' as she could be at times.

Wiremu is of course is in shock and is sad. He has people that care around him and is making decisions and saying things he would like to see happen and that are important to him. I am so proud of him.

This page closes in 75 days. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and helped to give Reb some comfort - the most difficult part of this illness for her - in knowing that her son would be growing up without her. We love you, Reb.
