    Kia ora koutou

    This is the last update I will be writing. Reb passed away on Wednesday at around 3.30am. She was comfortable and her loved friends, Gabriel and Rick, were by her side. Reb was wrapped in her favourite blanket that she has had since she was a baby. She was wearing her Oscar the Grouch jarmy pants and her 'Everything is F*****' t-shirt, that she had been saving for this occasion.

    The Nelson Hospice was amazing and took the best care of our 'little storm cloud,' as she could be at times.

    Wiremu is of course is in shock and is sad. He has people that care around him and is making decisions and saying things he would like to see happen and that are important to him. I am so proud of him.

    This page closes in 75 days. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and helped to give Reb some comfort - the most difficult part of this illness for her - in knowing that her son would be growing up without her. We love you, Reb.

  • What's been happening

    Hi everyone sorry I have not updated in a while.

    Last time I saw Reb and Wiremu was when Reb had a wish through an organisation called Race for Life they organised flights and accommodation so Reb could do something fun.

    She had a good few days were she had some energy and spent time hanging out at a motel sipping coffee, sleeping and being a haveachat.

    One night Wiremu helped cook his roast spud preparation was done with military precision.

    It was an awesome time.

    More recently things are getting harder.

    Reb’s health has declined further chemotherapy stopped a few months back and she is currently in the hospice.

    She sleeps a lot a bit like when she was a teenager, except she isn’t listening to music all night and eating junk food.

    The hospice is trying to control her symptoms and give her some quality of life when she is awake.

  • Whats been going on.

    Thanks for helping Reb's wish become a reality.

    Reb as you know has been having a rough time with symptoms causing havoc on her day to day living.

    She has recently had to be admitted to the Hospice in Nelson for symptom management.

    The Hospice have started her on a sub cut pump to administer medication to control her symptoms 24hrs a day,

    Hospice is a good place to be as they are experts in managing symptoms to improve Reb's quality of life.

  • What's new

    Thank you to everyone who has recently donated to Reb’s wish recently.

    After initially being told that she would have no more chemo.

    The Drs met and discussed Reb’s case with their colleges around the country a few weeks ago

    As a result of this meeting Reb started a different chemo again.

    Sending Hope strength and the ability to eat hot chips Reb’s way.

  • "Sometimes reality is too complex. Stories give it form."

    Firstly thank you to everyone who has made a donation to Reb's wish. It is touching that some of you have donated to our page and you haven't even met Reb or Wiremu thank you.

    Reb has been having a less than ideal time lately with her symptoms.

    When Reb was a kid she once covered herself in a box of plasters. She was playing a made up game called "I've been in an accident" and when she pulled the plasters off she was all better.

    (For the few seconds at least before her mum saw her anyway).

    I wish this was one of those times were just pulling a plaster off would fix things.

    Wiremu has been learning the Road Coad with a really awesome organisation. And as a result has L plates I'm sure his extensive knowledge of cars and there performance abilities from gamming would have helped.

    Also he is quite the mean nacho cook although his NOT HOT might cause your brain to spontaneously combust.

    Skills up loading all the time.

  • Were Rebs at with treatment,

    Rebs tumours have spread further. Unfortunately the two different types of chemotherapy regimes have not worked .Her side effects have been too taxing on her body,and the Dr's have stopped her treatment. As you can imagine this has been a devastating blow to Reb and Wiremu,

    Reb has been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of everyone that have donated on the page.She wanted to let you all know that she cant thank you enough .

    This page and your donations have given Reb some peace of mind around her concerns for her Sons future.
