We humbly invite you friends and whanau to help us restore Tūhourangi ki Tai marae in Te Puke, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Tūhourangi Wharenui was built around 1905 and the time has come to rebuild our beautiful tipuna and marae.
In October 2020 we began the careful deconstruction of our tipuna whare, and reconstruction is underway. We were successful with a $500,000 grant towards this $1.2m marae rebuild, which will provide the foundation for strong whānau and hapū development into the future.
We now call on all Tūhourangi whānau, near or far, to help with this important task of restoring our tipuna whare.
We call on our community, and all friends and people who believe in the place of mana whenua, who believe in strong, connected communities, full of aroha and manaakitanga.
We welcome one and all, to join the restoration of Tūhourangi ki Tai, and be part of our vibrant community.

Use of funds
Rebuilding Tūhourangi ki Tai (95 years old) will cost $1.2m. All funds raised will go directly to the rebuild project - construction is underway. We have raised $500,000 to date and seek $700,000 to complete the project.

Amazing progress to rebuild the Tuhourangi Whare Tipuna. Just want to let everyone know we've raised $650k towards the $700k build cost and the whare is almost there. Code of compliance in 2 weeks and just the carvings, tukutuku and painting to go. We're looking to raise $20k via our givealittle page. So grateful to all those who have contributed. Nga mihi nui
