Rebuilding Hope: Support for My Brother‑in‑Law’s Family After the 04/03 Fire- From ashes to Hope- please help with the rebuild

My name is Bisun Lal, and I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Today, I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my brother‑in‑laws, Bal Prasad, Rajendra Prasad, and my nephew Ravneel Prasad, who have suffered an unimaginable loss.

On Wednesday, 3rd March, a devastating fire destroyed their family home. In a matter of minutes, everything they had built over several decades —every belonging, every memory, every piece of security—was reduced to ashes. Thankfully, no lives were lost, but the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming.

For Bal, Rajendra, Ravneel, and the rest of their family, this tragedy has left them with absolutely nothing to fall back on. Their clothes, essential documents, household items, and personal keepsakes have all been lost. The home that once sheltered their dreams, their laughter, and their everyday life is now gone.

As a family, we are doing everything we can to support them. But the reality is—starting from scratch is incredibly difficult, especially when faced with sudden, unexpected hardship. That is why I’ve created this page: to ask for help from our wider community, friends, kind strangers, and anyone willing to stand with them in this moment of need.
