Help us support Waitaki Resource Recovery to continue with their important mahi after this loss
Oamaru, Otago
In a devastating event Waitaki Resource Recovery Park lost nearly 100 tonnes of plastic, paper and glass to a fire that was lit at the centre last Sunday night, causing upwards of $100,000 worth of damage.
Trish Hurley, the operations manager at the park, has said "Like all other recycling centres we do our utmost to recycle and divert as much material as possible away from our landfills. Unfortunately all the product in this area has been damaged and is not at all recyclable. This is heartbreaking."
We want to reach out to our extended community to help support WRRP recover from this damage so that they can continue their hard work in providing recycling, repurposing and waste disposal services to the community of Oamaru.
