Help send me to Amman, Jordan, where I will be working with refugees and other Jordanians in need
Manawatu / Whanganui
In September I will be going to Jordan to work alongside a church that is helping support refugee families and others in need, among the poorest areas in Jordan. Most refugee camps there have little or no electricity, dry and dusty conditions, are prone to disease spreading, tiny cramped spaces.. all causing families to leave soon after registering as refugees. Once outside the camps, families have no legal rights to school or work or finding homes etc, making it a struggle to set up any kind of normal life for their kids, and futures remain uncertain.
Alongside providing everyday necessities for those in need, there are a couple of schools that have been started for the refugee children, teaching them and also feeding them and giving to their families.
I am involved because I care! After spending time in a Greek refugee camp last year, and seeing the need first hand, my heart has grown so much for refugees and just to help support and love people, with a love so much greater than my own; Gods love. I just want to be his hands and feet, and go wherever he sends me. I am excited to go and love and teach the kids, and also go and minister to their families. I will be visiting Greece again too, and reconnect with many whom I built friendships with last year. Also I will be working with Humans for Humanity, who have set up a project on the island. https://www.launchgood.com/project/house_of_humanity__center_for_refugees_in_greece#/
Please support me in this if you feel led, and keep me in your prayers also!
Funds raised will be to support my own savings for flights to get over there and my own food + accom, and all extra funds raised will be used for the projects I have shared about, the schools, and in supporting the families and providing for their everyday needs, including food, baby products, housing etc.
Flights Booked! 20 May 2017
I have confirmed my trip by booking my flights to Jordan and then home from Greece! Super excited and cannot wait to get there and start serving! It begins now for me though, working hard and saving, planning and learning Arabic, and sharing my experiences with people here, raising awareness, and hopefully support! Thank you so much to those who have kindly decided to partner with me on this journey! I am currently also looking at what kind of work visas I could get, to do this more long term/permanently!
