Rehabilitation Learning to Walk Again

  • Medical Update

Had my monthly x-ray and the doc says he reckons it’s 60-70 percent there but healing is a bit slow - reminded me to have no weight baring (only 10-15 %) damn I had started standing and doing small skip walks in my room. He says I still have to be weary and side on caution with use of crutches and elevating leg more and even using a heat pack in the evenings.

After a good couple of weeks in the pool, which have done wonders for my flexibility and strength as well as general fitness - I finally made it back to the gym for a bit of light weights and some leg raising exercises.

As well as a comfortable room with big balcony there is a gym here - okay I’m not that big on that but will try - and swimming pool - in more inclined to go swimming every day.

I’ve begun swim programme but let gym programme slide a bit - will try and pick that up.

The weird thing with exercising my leg is looking down and seeing it noticeably smaller than my left leg and not being able to flex my calf is the weirdest sensation - the calf just looks like a flabby thing just hanging there - omg 😳 I was such sn active person before this is very very strange for me 😭

Anyway, just a little update so you know I am trying …
