My parents poured their hearts, savings, and trust into building what was meant to be their forever home. Instead, they’ve been left with an unfinished house, ongoing stress, and uncertainty about how they will recover financially and emotionally.

After years of hard work and planning, they now face the overwhelming reality of trying to make their home safe and livable while dealing with costs they never expected. What should have been an exciting new chapter has become exhausting and heartbreaking.

We are raising funds to help cover urgent repairs, and the work needed to finally complete their home so they can move forward with some peace of mind.

I am the daughter of Frances and Micheal. It is their home and we the children are trying to help raise funds to get it liveable again

Use of funds

Any moneys raised will be spent on getting the building finished to stop the leaking as at the moment it is covered with black polythene. We need plumbing done as there is no bathroom and also electrical needs to be connected.

Update 20 June 2026

Last week we had some very kind, caring and generous top blokes come and insulate the wall that has been mums bedroom wall the past year. It is nice and warm for the winter. Rueben and his guys from lakehouse construction Rotorua even put in a proper door and a window to let in some natural light. They’ve also had Matt put a huge tarp over the front and secured it which will make it watertight until the front can get finished. So very appreciative for their time and generosity. Still a lot to do but this has given some positive after all the negatives there’s been. Again thank everyone for the support 🫶🏼
