The Good News is our iconic bus shelter will be looking like new again with replacement panels scheduled for install on Wednesday. On Sinday 4 Aug we want to invite YOU & all donors to share a celebratory drink to toast the restoration of this iconic and beautiful public artwork at the adjacent Castlecliff Library, 10 Rangiora Street. Meet Claire Bell and hear the story and mahi behind the work. This will be followed by a public rededication of the shelter at 4:30
The bad-but-made-good news:
Sadly when checking install mid week Claire found that a third panel had been broken (probably last Sunday night). Fortunately she had access to the right sized glass and has moved heaven & earth to copy and create a replacement for this panel too so all three can be installed (scheduled for this Wednesday). Check out the video link where Clair explains part of the process involved. We've opened an page if you wish to make a contribution to Claire for this extra work.

Local Castlecliff company Get Glazed deserve a mention for their support with this extra work at no extra cost.
Progress Castlecliff is also engaging with the funders of the shelter Horizons Regional Council and the Whanganui District Council who have the responsibility for its maintenance to ask for a plan that will see this artwork maintained and on public display without needing to repeatedly ask the community for funding.

Kia Ora,
It's taken disappointingly long to get the glass arranged and Claire's nuptials (while not at all disappointing!) have also impacted the timeline BUT I'm happy to be able to share that work is well underway and the shelter will soon be once again looking it's finest thanks all of our generous donations.
I hope to be able to share install date soon.
Ngā Mihi Nui,
