Donate towards extra bus shelter costs

A koha to artist Claire Bell for her labour of love restoring the Rangiora Street bus shelter

Castlecliff, Whanganui

Progress Castlecliff invited the community to donate towards the replacement of two damaged panels on the beautiful 2020 etched glass Rangiora Street Bus Shelter https://coastalartstrail.nz/gallery/rangiora-shelter-by-claire-bell-2020/

You were amazing and with match funding raised the needed funds.

The glass delayed work and unfortunately, a third panel also needs to be replaced with extra costs so we're asking for contributions towards those extra costs.

The good news is that Claire has been able to source the extra glass panel, work is well underway and all three replacement panels will be installed by 1st August.

We want to invite all donors to share a celebratory drink to toast the restoration of this iconic and beautiful public artwork at the adjacent Castlecliff Library, 10 Rangiora Street at 4pm on Sunday 4th August where you can meet Claire Bell and hear the story and mahi behind the work. This will be followed by a public rededication of the shelter at 4:30

Progress Castlecliff is also engaging with the funders of the shelter Horizons Regional Council and the Whanganui District Council who have the responsibility for its maintenance to ask for a plan that will see this artwork maintained and on public display without needing to repeatedly ask the community for funding.
