Restore St Faith's New Brighton, an Anglican church with a true community spirit!
Christchurch, Canterbury
St Faith's Church, badly damaged in the 2010-2011 earthquakes, is an iconic building of New Brighton and has been associated with many families over the years.
Repair work to strengthen the building, repair the roof and stonework, carry out an electrical upgrade, restore windows etc. began last year. And while the insurance payout will cover some of the work it is not enough to complete the repairs and planned upgrade. We therefore need your help to raise the extra funds needed to complete the project.
Once completed it is envisioned that the church building will be used by the wider community for social activities, as well as a place to worship.
St Faith's Anglican Church New Brighton has a heart and provides community support to a wide range of people.
Funds are to be used to restore the church building and add an axillary building to house a meeting room, kitchen and toilets. While Insurance will cover some of the repairs there are unforseen costs like electrical upgrade and roof repairs not covered.
ST FAITH'S GARDEN 28 April 2023
The new Ancillary building, behind St Faith's Church, is nearing completion. Yay!!
Next we will be working on the landscaping to set off our new building and we are looking for donations of bulbs or money (to buy bulbs).
If you have any of the following bulbs and are willing to donate some to us can you drop them into the Vege Co-Op on a Tuesday.:
Snowdrop
White nerine
White and Blue hyacinths (not grape hyacinthins)
White daffodils
Scilla etc.
If you don't have any bulbs to donate but would still like to contribute a cash donation, to enable us to buy the bulbs, that would be really appreciated.
Now we will excitedly await the opening of the new Ancillary building later this year.
Your message will be displayed on the page and emailed to the donor.
Your new message will also be emailed to the donor.
