Help save two lionesses from a hunting farm and unite them with Zulu, our lonely lion.
International
Across South Africa there are over 8000 lions and lioness living in more than 200 breeding and hunting farms. For many of these individuals their lives can be summed up in four words; breed, raised, sold and killed. Females are breed and breed while both males and females are sold at high prices to any participate wanting to trophy hunt “legally”. Many individuals are born and die as part of these farms and absolutely heartbreaking and anguished me to know that people allow this to happen and participate in these farms.
Recently we have gained the opportunity to rescue and recover two lionesses from one of these facilities and transport then across the country into Zimbabwe to be united with a lonely male in a sanctuary in hopes of them forming a pride. All benefit will be going towards this rescue mission including the transport of the lioness across the country.
Please if you can donate as much as you are willing to help these lionesses finally taste freedom and for Zulu (our male lion) to finally have some companions. Even saving two lionesses from these breeding and hunting farms makes a massive difference to their lives. It also helps raise awareness regarding this disgusting practice.
I will be one of 12 volunteers going on the mission. We all will be participating in the rescue, recovery and transportation.
All funds raised will go towards the safe rescue and recover of these females. This included their transport across the country. Money will also be going towards the sanctuary that the lions will be living in.
Lionesses Relocation from Farm 25 November 2023
We have successfully ‘relocated’ two lionesses from a hunting and breeding farm to our sanctuary here in SouthAfrica. We are currently waiting for our permits to be excepted to take them across the border into Zimbabwe to join our lonely male lion, Zulu.
It was a very emotional day taking the lions from the farm but they are free now.
