My heart still hurts
5 January 2024My heart still hurts so so much. As most of you are aware, our Nala girl got worse early January and had become pretty much unresponsive and her body was giving up. I always promised her I would never let her suffer and if she needed to go to tell me and that’s what she did. I held her in my arms and told her to go to a place where she would feel no pain, she could run as far as she wanted, she could eat whatever she pleased, her tail would always wag and the sun would always shine and that I would love her forever and more. She passed so peacefully knowing that she was so so loved by myself, Leanne her vet and the Paws Restart community. Nala had become my wee shadow, wherever I went Nala was either driving shotgun or glued to my leg. The guilt and loss when you can’t save our special rescues is huge and my Nala Noo Noo will leave a huge hole in my heart. Thank you all so very much for your love, generosity, support and kindness shown to our special girl.
A large chunk of the money donated for her surgery has been used in the last days of her life for vet, specialist visits and required test. We are making good use the remaining funds for ongoing expenses with our other rescue dogs.
Here is a breakdown of the funds raised:
$10,542 have gone to vet visits, specialist visits and required tests for Nala
$7,050 left over has gone into the vet's account to cover the vet expenses of our other animals.
