Rescue, rehabilitate and rehome with hope, love, kindness, care, dedication and passion.
Auckland
Our Nala girl has crept into our hearts with her gentle soul, determination, fighting spirit and loving nature. Nala's young life has been challenging; sadly, she was left to suffer for far too long. She would have been dead if I hadn't intervened. But Nala still needs our help so that she can battle a severe liver condition (Liver Shunt) that requires urgent life-saving surgery in the next two weeks.
Nala girl has faced adversity with resilience and deserves a chance at a long, healthy, and happy life. She is not giving up on life, and we don't want to give up on her while she still has the will to fight.
But, the cost of life-saving liver surgery is substantial. We need around $ 18,000 for surgery and aftercare, and we can't do it without your help. Every dollar you donate will go towards Nala's surgery and the post-operative care she needs to fully recover.
Your generosity will save Nala's life and give her the chances she deserves. The chance to play, run at the beach, or simply walk more than just 10 meters at a time. Nala needs the chance to be a happy and healthy dog like all dogs should be.
Join us in the fight to bring Nala back to health and give her a second chance at a happy life. Let's rally around Nala and show her that love and compassion can conquer any obstacle.
Please share her story and donate by the 1st of November, 2023. Every single dollar will make a difference. Thank you for being Nala's lifeline.
Love, Tania 🐾💖

My heart still hurts 5 January 2024
My heart still hurts so so much. As most of you are aware, our Nala girl got worse early January and had become pretty much unresponsive and her body was giving up. I always promised her I would never let her suffer and if she needed to go to tell me and that’s what she did. I held her in my arms and told her to go to a place where she would feel no pain, she could run as far as she wanted, she could eat whatever she pleased, her tail would always wag and the sun would always shine and that I would love her forever and more. She passed so peacefully knowing that she was so so loved by myself, Leanne her vet and the Paws Restart community. Nala had become my wee shadow, wherever I went Nala was either driving shotgun or glued to my leg. The guilt and loss when you can’t save our special rescues is huge and my Nala Noo Noo will leave a huge hole in my heart. Thank you all so very much for your love, generosity, support and kindness shown to our special girl.
A large chunk of the money donated for her surgery has been used in the last days of her life for vet, specialist visits and required test. We are making good use the remaining funds for ongoing expenses with our other rescue dogs.
Here is a breakdown of the funds raised:
$10,542 have gone to vet visits, specialist visits and required tests for Nala
$7,050 left over has gone into the vet's account to cover the vet expenses of our other animals.
