About 15 cats have been abandoned by renters in the area & they have formed a colony at a residential address & live by a fence & cars.
Nationwide
I need help for colony of about 15 cats in Papamoa
that I am feeding & grateful every day when I bring the food bowls they come running.
Residents who have been told by Tga Council to starve them when they call.
I Found one cat that was starving looked like he came out of a horror movie. he had a few licks of food & I cuddled him while the vet sent him to his big sleep
knowing his last mins were with love & a name Max.
I could not starve any animal Tauranga Council have got this so wrong its what happened to humans in concentration camps what chance with council do the cats have.
I took another cat out of the colony his eyes were so infected & he is cross eyed he couldn't see his food bowl.
I have given him vet care he is de-sexed , vaccinated & tested for aids. His name is George & now joined our family he is so grateful & loves sitting by the fridge. My hope is to remove all cats from the colony de-sexed & re-home where possible. Otherwise these cats can be potentially a huge colony as they are all at the age of breeding .
There is a mother cat thats being attacked nightly by the toms she has scratches all over.
For the welfare of 15 a chance in life not just left to starve to death.
New shelter for Papamoa Cat Colony 22 June 2016
Colony cats went from last winter living under a tree to a new donated shed for the cats to sleep in with new fluffy beds & out door carpet on the floor. Some of the cats sleep 2 in one bed & cuddle up together.Kind neighbors have allowed the shed onto their property
A blessing for them on those cold raining days .
