Kia ora koutou,

We are Sophie and Jess, and we provide home based respite in Ōtautahi for young people with significant disabilities - primarily non-verbal autism.

Our wonderful group of young guys are constantly growing in size, and we have also increased our capacity to provide respite.. but with two large autistic teenage boys of our own it is a VERY tight squeeze in the car.

In order to provide comfortable, safe, and more, respite we are fundraising for a 12 seater van.

This will be used for school/day programme pick ups and drop offs, as well as outings. Our crew love getting out of the house, exploring new areas in Canterbury, and accessing the community. We love providing these opportunities, and we see firsthand the benefit respite has on the young people and their whānau.

Use of funds

12 seater van for respite transport and outings.

With the aim being a suitable van with all adjustments required (wheelchair storage, grate installation) we will purchase a cheaper suitable van if our goal is not met
