People helping people make New Zealand and better place to live.
Nationwide
Hi my name's Hayden Thorpe. I'm a kiwi, a builder and a surfer. A passion of mine is to see the people of New Zealand living life from a foundation of good mental health, knowing they are worth something and have a place within society.
We all know of the depression and suicide stats in our country and I would like to do my part in changing this. So I got a group of people together; friends, surfers, councillors, and we've started a surfing for mental health charity called "Restoke".
It involves being in the outdoors, exercise, community, eating and counselling. Our aim is to change the way we deal with mental health on a social level. We teach people to surf and teach people to live in a state of good mental health so they can come along side others.
Please donate and be sure to keep up with us on social media so we can make this change together.

Restoke is a free 8-week program for people that are aged 20yrs+, to help change the lives of people who are struggling.
We provide all the gear and training needed to learn to surf, all you need is a basic level of fitness, an ability to swim, and transport to the beach.
Along with a surf lesson and walk in nature, we provide a good meal and counselling sessions, so people have the opportunity to get professional help if they want it.
We are based in the beautiful village of Piha and have a healthy respect for the sea and surrounding bush, if we feel the conditions aren’t right to be walking in the bush or surfing in the sea, we will seek out other options around Auckland.
We have been running for about 1 year and would truly appreciate help from other kiwi's, to help pay for surfboards, wetsuits, food and counselling so that we can continue to make this happen.
