Restoring Our Whānau Home to Be Safe & Liveable Again

$1,019 donated
Given by 38 generous donors in 15 days

Raising support to restore our whānau home and make it safe, warm, and liveable again.

Te Kuiti, Waikato

This home has been in our whānau for years. It holds our memories, our connection, and a place we can always come back to.

Right now, it needs essential work to make it safe and liveable again — including heating, electrical repairs, a bathroom, and other basics.

My mum has been doing everything she can to try and restore it, but it’s become too much to carry alone. We’ve tried fundraising and applying for support, but haven’t had much success so far.

So I’m reaching out from the heart. This isn’t just about fixing a house — it’s about keeping a home alive for our whānau and future generations.

Any support, whether it’s a donation or even sharing this page, would truly mean the world to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for being part of this journey with us.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. I'm in the same situation with renovating our whanau homestead I know the feeling of being declined any real help and with the cost of living and current coalition government stomping on Te Tiriti o Waitangi hanging over our fellow country men it's like ripping out the very "heart and soul" of "Tangata whenua", surviving the current governments cycle by working together many more opportunities arise, vote the current government out they are not for the people of "Aotearoa" they are and always will be greedy politicians.....
