Support for Reuben's new life set up
Wellington
This is a call to all of Reuben’s mates from over the years.
After some major twists and turns in life, Reuben’s getting discharged from Burwood Hospital in Christchurch in October and starting a fresh chapter in a new home in Levin, close to Lesley, his mum, and other members of the Wallis clan. He’ll be rolling in style with a new wheelchair, a specialised vehicle to stay active, and his trademark positive outlook. Many of us haven’t caught up with Reuben in a while, so it’s time to remember all those good times and reconnect with him now as he establishes the beginning of a new era.
At the request of Reuben funds will be paid to his mother Lesley to facilitate
One of many friends
Friends and family can contribute financially to help Reuben obtain equipment that will help him adapt to his new situation. In particular, we are aiming for the Batec Scrambler 2 Handbike which Reuben is trying to source from an Australian dealership.
Thank you thank you 10 December 2025
Hi everyone
I want to thank you all for your incredible generosity. I appreciate the kindness and love. Please know that your support will make a tremendous difference to my life.
Your messages of encouragement mean a lot. It isn’t easy, but I’m settled here in Levin and in a pretty good place. My house is lovely and im currently trying to unravel my mass of tools and wood and begin to start a few wee timber projects again.
I am planning on buying a car to get back on the road. It won’t be quite the same as the old white van or the motorcycle but times have changed, and need to move forward with independence.
Thank you again, for all the l love and care you’ve shown me. Looking forward to hopefully seeing many of you soon
Your very appreciative friend
Reuben
