Imagine ringing in New Year's Eve in Wellington surrounded by vibrant costumes, infectious music, stellar performances & the electric energy of a community reunited. This is the vision of the Courtenay Carnival: The Biggest Dress Up Party in Aotearoa. It's more than just a celebration, it's a powerful movement to reignite the heart of Welliton's iconic hospitality precinct.

Courtenay Precinct is a collective of 35 businesses determined to bring back life to the city. Together, with your help we aim to restore Wellington's reputation & throw an all inclusive FREE event which showcases Wellington spirit & brings together creativity, diversity, joy & excitement.

Courtenay Carnival will consist of festive street dining, road closures, expanded dining areas on the street, best dressed competition, safe & secure crowd management so you can party with peace of mind.

Events of this scale come with significant costs. your contribution will pay for some of NZ's top talent including local artists, performers, circus acts, princess & superhero performers, drag queens, roving performers, bands, DJ's & equipment hire.
