We have been truly overwhelmed by all the love, support and generosity over this sad time, it was such a shock for our wee family with the tragic loss of our beautiful son and brother, Rhys, while he was overseas. We feel so lucky that we were able to bring him back home to Hahei New Zealand, where he can stay now. It was truly the only place he ever wanted to live.

It’s been very humbling for us to receive such amazing support from so many people, we love you all and would like to thank everyone personally but cannot at the moment.

Rhys's family have been blown away and humbled by the overwhelming generosity and support from everyone. They want to give a huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped them during this rough time with their overwhelming support and love. Rhys has an amazing group of friends and they thank you all.

**UPDATE**

Rhys's body has been found early today (2nd September). Thanks you to everyone who donated to help fund the private search. The main focus now is to bring him home to Hahei. We're not sure what's involved with this yet- but all remaining funds will be dedicated to these ongoing costs for Rhys's family.

Rhys Cochrane (24) went missing while swimming off the yacht he works on, during his break. The yacht was at anchor just off the coast of Cannes, France.

Rhys is a competent and experienced swimmer and diver, growing up in Hahei, and working in the family-owned dive business. Swimming from the yacht was not an unusual thing for him or the crew to do on a daily basis.

Unfortunately the official search has now been called off by the French officials, leaving his family who are on their way to France distraught.

They need funds to mount their own private search.

Any donations however big or small would mean such a lot and help the Cochrane family find their beloved son and brother.
