My brother inlaw Rick passed away on Monday morning 6th of May, he passed away in Anna's arms surrounded by his daughters, his father inlaw and Mother inlaw, he battled right to the end. It was a hard moment that his children and wife handled like true warriors. Rest easy now in paradise, until we meet again xx
My brother in law Rick has been diagnosed with advanced Oesophagus Cancer,The cancer he has is called adenocarcinoma, he has three oesophagus tumours and it's spread to his lymph nodes, spleen, liver, pancreas and all of his connective tissue and fluids in his abdomen. Rick's family and our side of the family are ready to fight this but we need some help. While having all the treatment he can get his hands on, Rick will need rest and support and have his wife and children by his side. Rick is going to throw every weapon possible at this but that also comes at a huge cost that the family just can't fund on their own, hopefully we can ease the stress for my sister Anna, Rick and family by offering what ever you can spare to give this family the help they desperately need. God bless and please pray xx
Rick Hodkinson is my brother in law, married to Anna (George). As giving and supportive as my extended family are we can't do this alone, we really need extra help here.
Money raised will help with ongoing medical costs, bills and to give Rick and his girls some quality time together, this is a one income family so when Rick is in treatment we want him to not have to worry about missing a bill payment or rent etc
Update of Ricks current situation 15 March 2019
As you may or may not know Rick has been through intense medical intervention during the past six months.
Unfortunately he is not able to receive the level of treatment he needs through the public hospital system and so he is now receiving private medical treatment.
As you can imagine this is a very expensive exercise and we need to raise more funding to support this approach.
The treatment he is receiving will be ongoing for an unknown period of time, we know that a lot of you reading this update have very generously made donations to Ricks give a little page and in other ways. Thank you all for this.
The bottom line is we need to raise more funds as the $8500 it shows is in here has already been used on his treatments so far,
(we estimate we need $20,000 over the next three months). We hope that there will be renewed support through the give a little page many thanks from us all,
Doug Naylor (Ricks uncle)
