A team of commited adventureists throw themselves into the unknown to support Saving Rhinos & Rainforest Revolutions
Auckland
Joshua “Hohua” Mckeogh, Victoria “Muffy” Spode and myself Tristan “Dusty” Dryburgh will be commandeering - what is basically a glorified lawnmower - a Tuk-Tuk, as we race against the clock, and others idiots across India. We will be competing for glory, garlic naan and your hearts . But most importantly, the betterment of the world we live in, as we aim to raise money for the charities Cool Earth Save African Rhino Foundation.
Dusty, your videographer will be documenting the entire trip. Thanks to the socially crippling effects of social Media you won’t miss a thing. From every wrong turn to every break down, (both mental and physical) you’ll be there for the entire, terrifying ordeal.
What you can do for us:
Design a dare for us, put us in dangers way, make us act outrageous. Tell us to order a SPICY Rogan Josh, order us to only wipe with our left hand, command us to contract cholera, make us wear mankinis for a day. We will do ANYTHING for a price. You make the dare, we decide the price.
What we will do for you:
We are grateful for each and every donation to our cause and will be thanking you in a post India video.
$30 Donation – I will make you a personalised handmade macaroni card to be delivered directly to your place to residence.
$50 Donation – If you live within the bounds of Auckland, Brisbane or South America we will send out the corresponding team mate to personally shake your hand and wish you well.
$100 Donation – YOU GET TO JOIN US ON THE TUK TUK! Well…..sort of. I will print an A3 picture of your face and stick it right on the side of the Tuk Tuk. Not only will your delicate face be seen by thousands of the local populace, but I will also feature you on my post India adventure video. $100 for your beautiful melon to live on in eternity isn’t such a bad deal now is it?
About the Charities
– Cool Earth
In the last 40 years 50% of all rainforests have been destroyed. Cool Earth works with indigenous communities all over the world to not only prevent desforestation, but to ensure that the community itself has the tools and power to help themsleves, rather than being dependant on charities.
Right now CoolEarth is safeguarding 642,311 acres of rainforests across three continents. As a result they have locked in a total of 167,000,860 tonnes of CO2 by keeping trees standing.
But dont let me do all the talking, have a look for yourself.
What We Do
– Save African Rhino Foundation
Between 1972 and 1987 it has been estimated that 96% of Africas Black Rhinos were slaughtered for their horns. 25 years on and the numbers of many species of rhinos are still dwindling as this barbaic trade continues. Despite this fact, some numbers have risen and it would be fair to say SARF was fundamental to this population growth.
Last financial year alone they provided $620,000 worth of equipment and project expenses to Zimbabwean Rhinoceros conservation. Had SARF and other foundations not intervened it would be safe to say a vast majority of Rhinoceros species would be on the brink of extincation.
Having spoken personally with Nicholas Duncan, the Head Honcho of SARF I can guarantee that all money raised will be funneled straight into the preservation of these magnificant creatures for generations to come.
Check them out, they’re pretty darn rad!
