Ride 4 Ruth

Hi everyone, just letting you know that I'm on a mission - I have decided to bike Tour Aotearoa starting 1st of March from Cape Reinga to the Bluff in the South Island. 30 days for 3000k's!

My motivation behind this crazy mission is Ruth baker who is Richard and Kerry's daughter and Grace's little sister.

Ruth was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 (Patau Syndrome) and they were told that with her diagnosis, there was only a 10% chance of survival and no guarantee that she would reach full term, be born alive or survive past few hours.

She is now around 7 months old, this is a true testimony of God's grace over her life and her family.

So when I'm on my bike ride and I'm struggling away I will think of Ruth Baker and the struggles she faces day to day and that will give me the motivation to press through.

The funds are being raised to help the Bakers with their expenses, Kerry will no longer be able to work, being the full time carer for Ruthie and there will be periods where the family will not be able to gain income when in Auckland for Ruthies surgerys. They are also going to donate 50% of all donations to Starship hospital to help provide more beds and the same amazing care the received with Ruthie.
