    Final push to the finish. A little worried about the tour bus traffic on route. Left Te Anau at 7am really nice ride out if town. Bus traffic pretty good and JUST enough road should to avoid being part of the paint work. A consistent 105k climb to the Homer Tunnel. Steep ramps in places seemed vertical, with the last 1k to tunnel a real battle exhausted legs didn't have much left to give there. Through the tunnel for the down hill roll out to the finish line.

    What a course. Really hard, massive climbs, remote country to ride through. A very special event to be part off. Thank you for your support along the way.

  • Day 11 Sounds 2 Sounds

    Leaving Athol pinching into a stiff S/W wind made for a long slow day. Gravel tracks were soft and made riding pretty tuff going. Final into Te Anau around 9pm. Total distance for the day just under 140k. Long slow frustrating day. The venison pie at Mossburn yellow cafe help. Would recomend stopping there.

  • Day 10 up and through the Nevis high Country

    What a day that was. Huge climb out of Bannockburn. Bitter southerly weather system pushing through with snow showers and gail force winds to punch into. Really slow progress, just had to keep moving. Rivers to cross. Amazing place

  • Day 9 into Central close to home

    Over the Omarama Saddle and onto the rail trail. Taking on the Nevis climb and valley through to Garston. Big day in the mountains today. Looks cold.

    A mixed bag over the last couple of days. Cold and wet. Out of Canterbury throught to the McKenzie Country. Closer to home by the day. Big climbs continue with the Mckenzie saddle and Omarama Saddles.

    Day 3 completed. A tuff ride from Blenheim through the Molesworth Conservation region, beautiful country, big mountains to get over on the bike.
