This is a fundraising page for Rachel Lee to help in her ongoing battle with Neuro Endocrine Tumour(NETs)
Auckland
When you talk about having tough days I only have to look to my friend Rachel to see what that means. Rachel Lee has been bravely battling Neuro Endocrine Tumour (NETs) since October 2014. Rachel is the mother of 4 year old Milly.
Rachel has been ongoing treatment in Melbourne to treat this aggressive form of the disease. Unfortunately this comes at a cost of around $10,000 each time.
In an attempt to help Rachel, we (David Beattie and his friend Peter Escott) have decided to have their own tough day. We have decided to ride from Cape Reinga to the Northcote Tavern, 450km in 24 hours.
The hope is that some money can be raised to assist Rachel to continue to afford to receive the treatment she needs to fight this particularly aggressive condition.
We are sure this ride will have its tough moments but nothing compared to what Rachel goes through on a daily basis.
We are really looking forward to this challenge and being able to do something practical for Rachel and Milly means so much more
Me and my mate Peter Escott are riding for Rachel and Milly as it is two mates helping in practical and fun way.
Well me did it!! 2 March 2016
After 456km and 24 and a bit hours we finished our ride from Cape Reinga to the Northcote Tavern. We were glad to finish safe and sound still talking to each other and extremely stunned by the amount raised for Rachel and Milly.
Special thanks to Al and Steve our fantastic support crew for their amazing assistance through out the trip especially over night.
