Please help this young whanau who've lost everything to a house fire

I am absolutely devastated as I write this.

My friend Rihipete and her little whanau (Partner Kodye and son Leon) have lost everything they own in a house fire over the weekend. Just out of Otorohanga, was an old farm house that they had made their home. The fire department determined it was caused by an electrical fault in their laundry, it is not what they thought their very first rental home would become of.

They’re both hard working parents who want nothing but the best for their beautiful baby boy who just celebrated his first birthday. All of his sentimental gifts he never got to play with are now nothing but ashes.

I can't express enough thanks to the milk tank driver who woke the household up giving them enough time to escape without anybody getting hurt and called the fire department. They leave behind many things, some of which they will never be able to get back.

This is why I am asking for help, any donation big or small, furniture, baby items, anything to help this young family start their lives in a new whare. This fire has destroyed all of their belongings but it will NOT destroy them.

They’re always there to help others in times of need and it’s heartbreaking seeing such a beautiful young whanau have to go through this, especially when they worked so hard to get to where they were.

They do not have any type of insurance or cover for this tragedy hence why I am reaching out.
