Rikki has an aggressive brain tumour. This is his third time facing cancer treatment in his 23 years.
Northland
Rikki Nathan is a courageous, positive young man who always has a smile on his face, despite having more than his fair share of tough times. At the age of 9, he fought non-Hodgkins lymphoma for three years.
In early 2015, at 22 years old, Rikki was diagnosed with an aggressive Grade 4 brain tumour (glioblastoma mulitiforme) He has not been able to work, drive or play sport since. Rikki had surgery, radiation and chemotherapy which seemed to be successful for a few months.
But this year the tumour has returned and he has braved another huge dose of radiation.
Rikki has recently been told he has less than a year to live. The only possibility of increasing the odds is to opt for an expensive specialised chemotherapy treatment of around $100,000. So with your help, he could give this one more shot.
Rikki is much loved by his large family and his many friends. Please help if you can. Every little bit counts and any donations or koha will be much appreciated.
I am Rikki's partner and have seen him smile his way through this life-changing journey. Please help to keep that big smile on his face.
Thank you one and all! 26 October 2016
A huge thank you to each and every one of you who has made a donation, sent best wishes and kept us in their thoughts. Rikki is now unable to have any further treatment due to the growth of his tumour, so he has decided to donate half of the givealittle funds raised to the charity of his choice: Camp Quality. He has very fond memories of being involved with this charity as a child. The remaining funds will be used for palliative care and to enhance Rikki's quality of life. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
