My terminally ill mother has two wishes... Go on a scenic train ride and go to Kaikoura (and eat a crayfish).
Auckland
In April this year, we were hit with the news that Mum had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer & Renal Failure. It was too far along for treatment, so it was all about keeping her 'comfortable'. We were told she would be lucky if she lasted 2wks. (Huh!! What do doctors know?)
So I flew straight back to NZ on April 17th and traded my life in Aussie for sleepless nights on the floor next to my mum in her rest home (Erin Park) to look after her (with help from my siblings as well) and make sure she was being looked after properly by the staff.
Six months on she is still with us and we have been making the most of the time we have. So many new memories we have created. Plenty of laughs, so many tears, a few confessions, loads of stories of when she was a child growing up and how I'm her favorite Lol plus so many more things. But there was one thing I wanted to know... "Mum, if you could do anything or go anywhere, what would it be". Her reply was "A scenic train ride and I would have liked to have gone to Kaikoura and eat a crayfish".
So with that said, my goal is to raise enough funds to be able to take her to do this and combine the two wishes in one trip.
Can you help?

Jade (Riki's wife) will be receiving funds as Riki doesn't have a NZ bank account.
From Riki:
I am doing this for my mother. She has been both my mother & father throughout my entire life. There's nothing I wouldn't do for her.
It's our turn to look after her now.
BucketList Ticked Off!!! 9 November 2016
So on Thursday 3rd November 2016, while in Kaikoura - we took Mum out on a Charter to do some fishing and of course 'GET HER CRAYFISH'!!
Of the entire trip, she said that one day was her ABSOLUTE highlight!
Thank you all SO much for your generosity, love and kind words. Mum was so touched by the amount of people who would help her do something like this. Including all those she has never met. She sends her love to each and every one of you.
Thank you again.
Thank you Tina and Carl. Arohanui xx
