Hi again! Its now day 17. 17 days without a glass of my beloved, freshly chilled Sav. Its been alright though, I've ran the gauntlet of afternoon beers with mates in the sun ( ""Just a lemonade for me, thanks"") Pizza dates with friends ( faux bubbly grape juice is actually pretty damn refreshing with a Hell Pizza) and social events ( Burlesque Masquearde Ball, I'm looking at you - so much Red Bull was consumed by me that night) Some unexpected side effects of not indulging include a spot of weight loss ( can't complain there) and a few more dollars in my bank account at the end of the week ( turns out, booze expenditure can really add up) Emily and I completed our first challenge video ( see link below) and it was pretty flipping awesome, I'm really hoping we get some more quirky challenges to fulfill as it was fun to just dork around in front of the camera for a bit. so, if you're reading this, you should totally get behind us, flick us a cool $50 and come up with a crazy challenge ( you know, you can team up with mates and pool funds too to make up the $50, no qualms with that! ) Funds wise - we are almost halfway there! So exciting! Im really really wanting to reach our fundraising targets, and do the very best possible for NZ Womens Refuge and Wellington Rape Crisis, and the best way to do this is to just get the link and the campaign out there - even if you can't spare a few dollars to donate, sharing the event, telling your friends and passing the word around would be a fantastic way to help us reach our goals as well. In the lead up to Xmas, incidences of domestic violence ( and therefore the demand for financial and physical assistance from Womens Refuge and Rape Crisis) increases exponentially - a sad side effect of the extra stress and strain the holiday season can place on families. The money we raise will go to help these foundations at a crucial time of year, right when their services are under the most pressure, and will really help women and children in need in our local community.
