A team of crew from the ROA Mining Rescue Helicopter in Greymouth are taking on the challenge of the Kathmandu Coast to Coast in February.

Hernan, Tom and Prue (from the Nelson base) will be running, kayaking and biking from Kumara Beach to Christchurch.

About us

The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust has funded the life-saving Rescue Helicopters in Canterbury and on the West Coast since 1989.

Each year the service undertakes over 300 missions on the West Coast and over 600 in Canterbury.

Use of funds

Supporting the work of the ROA Mining Rescue Helicopter on the West Coast of the South Island. Ensuring that the helicopter is there to save lives whenever it is needed.

New team member announced  17 January 2025

Prue from the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter is joining the team to fill the place of Matt who was injured.
