Raising funds to get me to the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final on the Gold Coast, 12-16th September 2018

Main image

I think many Kiwi kids are inspired by New Zealand Athletes and the dream of being able to represent their country and flag.

I was one of those kids.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that this would have been an achievable goal for me. Turns out you should never say never!

In less than a year of training for Triathlon and with only 5 races under my belt I have gained selection to represent myself and Team Kiwi at ITU World Triathlon events.

I decided to take on triathlon to mix up my training after long distance running for 3 years, improve my fitness and push my physical and mental limits.

I have had a great first season and plan to continue to train and race in Triathlon for as long as I can.

My very first race in November 2017, the Pegasus Classic, I placed 3rd in my age group.

After racing in Triathlon New Zealand National Championship Events, I have gained selection to represent myself and Team Kiwi at the following events:

- ITU World Triathlon Grand Final, Gold Coast, Australia, 12-16th September 2018: Standard Distance Triathlon

- ITU Multisport World Championships, Fyn, Denmark, 6-14th July 2018: Middle Distance Triathlon

I completed my first Middle Distance Triathlon at Challenge Wanaka Half in February, where I finished in 5th Place for my age group. As a result, I have also been invited by Challenge to race at the Challenge Championships in Samorin, Slovakia on June 3, 2018.

For myself to attend these events requires self funding. It would cost me approx. $20k to attend all 3 events.

I have made the decision to only attend the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final on the Gold Coast.

I need approximately $4,000 to attend the event and put funds aside to attend future international Triathlon events. The ultimate goal is Ironman Kona, Hawaii.

Please support me and my dream to represent myself and my country as I train and work towards racing in my first Triathlon World Championship event where I am aiming for a top 10 finish for my age group.

funds will be used for:

Race Entry Fees

Flights

Accommodation

Transport

Race & Travel Insurance

NZ Triathlon Team Uniform

Any surplus will be put towards future events in which I gain selection to represent NZ.
