MS Auckland is a charitable organisation, who support people living with Multiple Sclerosis through education, advocacy and support.

Auckland

Playing the guitar, enjoying a round of golf - these are the sorts of things Rob used to love doing. But now, 13 years since being diagnosed with MS, they’re a distant memory. “MS mostly affects my hands, so I’ve had to give away my guitar and sell my golf clubs. It just became too hard seeing them, but not being able to play”, he says.

Rob’s had a few years to get used to his condition now, but still finds the lack of independence frustrating. From putting on his beloved kilt, to carrying a cup of coffee, to holding his wife’s hand – simple things that most people take for granted are much harder. And that’s before you even get to his line of work. As an engineer, MS has completely changed the way and speed at which he can work.

About us

MS Auckland provides personalised support services to people living with Multiple Sclerosis, along with their families, friends and carers. Our mission is to minimise the impact of MS on these people, while working to improve treatments and ultimately find a cure.

Use of funds

MS can make easy things hard. But the good news is it’s easy to help. Please help MS Auckland support people like Rob, by giving what you can through Givealittle, or head to msakl.org.nz to find out more.
