Help support the Reid Family whilst Brendan fights cancer.
Wellington
Brendan Reid is a father of 4 and husband to Robyn. Brendan first visited his doctor to see about a lump in his neck in August 2016. After a lot of anxious waiting, Brendan and Robyn received the diagnosis that no-one wants to hear – cancer. Brendan has Stage 3 Non Hodgkin Diffuse B-cell Lymphoma.
It is an aggressive form of cancer and the doctors have an aggressive treatment plan in place – which Brendan is currently going through to face his illness head on. He’s had 4 out of 6 chemotherapy sessions and is also undergoing immunotherapy.
The treatments are leaving Brendan extremely tired, nauseous and fatigued. It is a gruelling process – and incredibly – Brendan has continued to work in his busy job as a retail staff person. However, this is no longer sustainable. The treatments are taking a serious toll on his body and depleted his energy reserves to the point where he needs to reduce his hours to part time. His employer has been fantastic and have done what they can but Brendan and Robyn now face the scary reality of not being able to meet their basic weekly financial obligations due to the reduction in Brendan’s work hours.
Brendan and Robyn are so deserving of your kindness – they are hardworking and humble people who have been foster carers in recent years and have fostered 35 children. They are so kind-hearted that they fell in love with 3 of those fostered children and adopted them as their own. They are also full time guardians for their Grandchild who would have otherwise faced going into foster care himself. Brendan and Robyn have given so much to help others, but now they’re the ones needing help.
I am Rob & Bren's neice and want to help!
