Elderly couple lose home in fire.

The home of my parents, Ron and Liz, who live on Waiheke Island, burnt down on 19 January 2016. The cause of fire was not obvious. Nothing of the building is salvageable; most items of value were destroyed including their dog Mac, yet a few sentimental items have been saved.

Ron and Liz are staying with family and are saddened by the loss. The house and contents were not insured. Being in their seventies they face a challenging time ahead as they build themselves a place they can call home.

I am grateful for offers of support and have set up this page to provide a way for those who want to help, but are unable to assist in a practical way, to do so.
