Books in Hands. Books in Homes. Books in Hearts

We aim to promote literacy in homes by gifting our children with their own books to read at home and purchase new books for our kindergarten

Manawatu / Whanganui

Roslyn Kindergarten is excited to be holding a Scholastic Book Fair from Monday 29 August – Friday 2 September. For this week, children's books will be on display and available for purchase through the Kindergarten.

The purpose of this book fair is to encourage literacy in homes. Last year, we raised enough money to send home two books per term per child for a year and we would love to repeat that again this year.

Children who are read to at home have a higher success rate at school. We see this book fair as an opportunity to get our children excited about books and reading. The children in our community come from a mix of backgrounds and cultures and we are keen to provide equal opportunities to literacy, and to give them the resources to have the best start they can in their education.

We would like to invite you to partner with us by donating to our book fair. Donating will enable Roslyn Kindergarten to purchase books for our children and for the kindergarten. We will also receive a percentage of sales to put towards books for this purpose.

About us

Roslyn Kindergarten is a unique kindergarten committed to high quality early childhood education. Our programme is founded on our bicultural early childhood curriculum framework of Te Whariki. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to education which originates from Italy and is used widely throughout the world.
