I'm doing a 100km bike ride, and want to raise funds for Te Karaiti Te Pou Herenga Waka's 20th anniversary celebration in November.
Auckland
I'm cycling in the Rotorua Taupo race, which is about 100km, and want to raise funds for one of my churches: Te Karaiti Te Pou Herenga Waka, in Mangere. Te Karaiti is a landmark Māori church, functioning as a marae as well as a church. This year marks its 20th anniversary since consecration, and we're planning a big celebration in November.
We have quite a bit of maintenance we'd love to do before the anniversary celebration, and I'd love you to support me on the ride, and my church as we prepare for the anniversary, by donating here. All the funds raised will go to Te Karaiti.
I am the Pirihi Whakahaere (Priest-in-charge) for the Takiwā o Manukau (Manukau pastorate), a group of six Māori Anglican churches in South Auckland, including Te Karaiti Te Pou Herenga Waka.
All money raised will be spent on maintenance and building upgrade projects for Te Karaiti Te Pou Herenga Waka. Depending on the amount raised, this could be some painting and repairs, adding an internet connection, and upgrading the AV/PA system.
