Join George's campaign for gold in the Men's Coxless Four at the 2025 FISU World University Games, Duisburg, Germany, 25-27 July
Canterbury
George started rowing in his first year of secondary school, originally as a cox before growing into the lanky fine young man he is today.
The last four years George has been balancing studying for a Mechanical Engineering degree at University of Canterbury with competitive rowing and coaching Villa Maria College.
In 2023 he rowed for the New Zealand U21 team, and in 2024 was in the eight that won the premier title at the NZ championships.
This year he was hoping to make the U23 squad, but with limited results (due to injury) missed out on selection.
After some good results late in the season, George was selected for the New Zealand team to compete at the World University Games in Germany in July.
This is a great opportunity to represent New Zealand at what is like an Olympics for Universities. Every donation no matter how small will make a real difference in helping him get there and compete at his best.
George is my youngest son.
Any funds raised will be used to help pay for the $9,000 cost of trip.
Thanks heaps!
