We won't give up on Rufus.
Waikato
Rufus is a new member of our family, he is a handsome bulldog puppy. As first time caregivers of this particular breed of dog we all eagerly anticipated his arrival and the initial costs involved were well worth the bundle of wrinkles. Breed specific breathing problems were to be expected and insurance were in place. Although full of energy and bouncing about playing Rufus would from time to time seem sickly struggling for breath, one night bringing tears to his family watching unable to ease his struggle.
Through the concerns and worry for Rufus and his health we sought out a bulldog specialist vets, scans were done revealing an unexpected complication. It was then discovered Rufus would need surgery as he has an extreme case of abnormally small breathing tubes, an inherented condition knowledge of which was previously not disclosed by the breeder of the sire dog having a similar condition. At threel months old our little Rufus will undergo an exploratory surgery to see the severity of his condition and what will have to be done for him in the near future to ease his struggle for air.
In only 8 weeks vet costs are already more than the initial cost for our pup. We are now financially stretched and seeking help from friends and extended family. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
