Run for Recreate, so that we can keep providing life-changing experiences for youth with disabilities!
Nationwide
We are calling out for young people, staff, volunteers and whānau within our Recreate community to join us and Run for Recreate!
This fundraising initiative for 2024 stretches across the motu, including the Auckland Marathon (5k, 11km, 21km - 3rd November), The Pirongia Trail Run in the Waikato (3km, 8km - 16th November), Mount City to Surf in the Bay of Plenty (5km, 11km, 21km - 10th November) and Christchurch Colour Run (5km - 24th November).
Entry costs vary, and entrants can pay for themselves as their 'contribution' to Recreate, or deduct their entry costs from their fundraising. Our main groups consisting of staff, volunteers, participants and whānau will be jogging (or walking at a suitable pace) the 3km or 5km runs, but if entrants want to go further and push the limits, go for it!
Entrants reach out to their networks and fundraise on behalf of Recreate NZ, so that we can keep providing ‘life-changing experiences for youth with disabilities’. As a not-for-profit, we are hugely thankful for all we receive; every little bit counts!
If you want to 'Run for Recreate' in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty or Christchurch, please email info@recreate.org.nz for more information and to register.
Recreate NZ is an innovative Charitable Trust established in 2002. Our kaupapa is all about life-changing experiences for young people with disabilities. We do this through the provision of quality adventure, recreation, social and education programmes.
As a grass-roots not-for-profit, we are supported by hugely generous funders big and small. All proceeds directly impact our ability to run more programmes that serve young people with disabilities, while also providing parents and carers respite.
