I'm wanting to give back to the Nelson Tasman Hospice! They have given so much to my mum and continue to do so! Lets get behind them!
Nationwide
My amazing mum Alicia Staveley (Lishy) was diagnosed with Cancer in February 2012 after suffering a Hemorrhage. She spent 7 weeks in hospital between Nelson and Wellington.
They gave her a life expectation of 2-3 weeks.
My husband and I at the time were based in Wellington, my mum in Motueka, so I made the call to care for her until the end.
It's now been 29 months today, and my mum is still fighting on, we have had ups and downs along this roller coaster of emotions, it's certainly not been an easy ride, but every single day that passes is another day she makes me prouder to be her daughter than anything in this world!
My mum has had no treatment due to the amount and size of her tumors, she is the most bravest warrior I know, the only person I want to strive to be like, and has the strongest soul that I hope to even have a small part of live in me.
Nelson Tasman Hospice have and continue to support my mum and our family through her journey, and I want to give back to them what I can.
Before my mum was diagnosed she was extremely active. She would be seen walking everyday with her troops of children she cared for through Kidstart Barnardos, with her double stroller in tow and happy children beside her.
To do something that fits her to a tee I am completing in the Queenstown 1/2 Marathon in November this year with my husband and awesome friend. I am asking for people to sponsor me to complete this and all funds and donations will go to the Nelson Tasman Hospice.
I owe so much to this team of amazing people, the nurses, doctors, reception staff, volunteers, cleaners, every person in there has given something to the way that place continues to support families like my own.
Please share this link on all your social media sites and help me give back to an extremely deserving cause.
Every bit counts! Here's to "Lishys Run"
