Running for the wellbeing of young women in Wellington!
Wellington
Kia ora Shift whānau! It's that time again when I pull on my runners and set off to raise some much needed funds for The Shift Foundation to support young women's wellbeing! My motivation (when the struggle gets real!) and my WHY!
This time I'm running 250KM through the hot and humid Sri Lankan rainforests! I leave Aotearoa on the 17th March (next week!) and begin the 5-day-multistage race on the 21st March. Camping by night and running by day. What an adventure! I will be sharing my journey here and on the old socials - follow along @shiftfoundationnz OR @fran_mcewen_x and if you can share this page or spare a koha (donation) that would be AMAZING!

The Shift Foundation’s (Shift) vision is young women flourishing in their communities. We put young women at the centre of everything we do, and aim to improve their wellbeing through connection, empowerment, movement and leadership.
I’m hoping to raise $2,500 which will be used by The Shift Foundation to support young women's mental health through our 'Shift your Mind' programme.
200km will have to do… for now AND thank you 😊 26 March 2022
Kia ora e hoa mā,
A final post to say thank you for your support for Shift, and also to let you know I finished the race! Day 4 was cancelled due to a storm with crazy flooding (making us evacuate a lake side camp). We spent the night in a temple. But wrapped up day 5 today with my fastest time.
I do plan to smash out a 48KM when I’m back in Aorearoa, to complete the full 250KM. It’s important to me to do what I said I would do 😊
Time for some R & R! Thank you again. Your support helps us continue the very important mahi of improving young womens wellbeing ❤️
