Running the Auckland Half Marathon and fundraising to support Adaptive Snow Sports
Otago
In October I am planning to run the Auckland Half Marathon and thought it would be a good opportunity to raise some much needed funds and awareness in support of Adaptive Snow Sports.
Adaptive Snow Sports is centered around adapting equipment and lessons as well as providing accessible support systems to allow people with a wide range of disabilities to take to the snow all the while gaining experience in the freedom of snow sports. They help to remove participation barriers and encourage those with functional impairments to get involved in snow sports. Support includes anything from assisting on-mountain adaptive programmes, promotion, adaptive training for instructors and volunteers and hosting fun and competitive events.
As you all know I love spending time on the snow, it’s given me so much happiness over the years and I think it’s so cool that the guys at Adaptive Snow Sports provide the same opportunities for all abilities to take part and enjoy the sport I love too. Adaptive skiing and snowboarding enables people with disabilities to ride the mountain like everyone else.
I would really appreciate it if you could assist me by donating to support this cause.
Race day is on 28th October.
Adaptive skiing and snowboarding also enables people with disabilities to ride the mountain like everyone else.
Funds raised will be used for adaptive equipment and ongoing support for participants
