Those who know me will know , My dad is my best friend.
He is the man I look up to, the person I hope to be like every day, to make proud and the one person I've never wanted to be without. In February this year I was told the news Ive never wanted to hear.
My dad was diagnosed with Stage Four Lung Cancer. It is an incurable cancer and we are now left to take each day as it comes. He has started treatment and we are left to hope that works for years to come however ultimately, we dont know if we have 12 months or 20 years. This is all out of our hands, so we cherish every day that comes.
As you may know based on my last fundraiser, I love over-commit myself physically and this year is bigger than the last, but also means so much more,
I have signed up to run the Auckland full Marathon (42.2km) on November 2nd to fundraise for Lung Foundation New Zealand. I am hoping what I raise can be put towards finding a treatment that will allow me to have my dad around for a long while longer.
