Went in for another bandage change today. It'd been bothering the boy since it was changed a couple of days ago. More bandage rash unfortunately. They've trimmed his cast back a little to alleviate rubbage. Fingers crossed 🤞
Wingman Pipi is never too far away xx
An exciting time of the day for Rupert. Dinner followed by a bit of post-dinner action (aka walking from bowl back to bed after wiping face on furniture). Happy days xx woof
One week on bandage change today. Brave boy didn't need sedation this time around. Now hangin' in the lounge for a bit of time out of the cage 🐾
Got out in the new wheels this evening. Great to get out in the hood 🐾
He's never been so keen on the rawhide chews before. I guess we're all entitled to change our minds from time to time.
We were getting a little ahead of ourselves there (ie. Days 3 + 4 should be 2 + 3). Clear as mud?
Anyway, here we are 2 weeks after Rupert's attempt at flying and it's 5 days post surgery. He is sleeping a lot, of course, but still trying to persuade me to throw a toy for him every now and then between zzz's.
I can see new ways of keeping him entertained are on the cards. Ideas welcome :-)
Rupes has had a pretty good day. A little slow and happy to lay low in his new environment (aka cage). He has a nasty rash around his bandage which is bothering him a little. They've given me cream which he seems to enjoy me applying xx woof
^ Day 3
Looks who's just got home. Not overly keen on the new living arrangements but happy to be here.
Thanks for all the continued support xx woof
FYI (note from surgeon): Rupert has had surgery to stabilize his right wrist joint. The cartilage from the joint spaces in the wrist has been removed and some spongy bone taken from the top of his right humerus bone has been packed into the joint spaces to promote bone healing. The entire wrist joint has been bridged and stabilized using a specialized bone plate and screws. The surgery went extremely well but complications such as screw loosening or infection can still occur.
^ Day 2
Just back from a visit with Rupert. He's doing so well.
He'll be in for one more night, so I've left him with a toy and the t-shirt I slept in last night.
It was great therapy for us both xx woof
Rupert's surgery went very well yesterday and he's had a good nights rest. They even convinced him to eat something which is great.
His mama's popping in for a visit around midday.
Thanks for all the lovin' xx woof
