Sabia constantly there, a true loyal family member supporting me to keep the fight in life. I need to help keep the fight in her life now.
Canterbury
Sabia a constant support, where in return for her unconditional love, she deserves my unconditional love of doing everything I can do to help her.
And the rest of the family love her around, especially Wesley my other cat.
Her mother was a stray, then I was gifted Sabia. She has been the most non-disciplined cat I have had. After many years, she still claws my furniture, carpet, and constantly sleeps on areas around the home that she is not meant to. But her loyalty of always following me day and night, the gift of love an animal gives one is more important.
Sabia has an enlarged left thyroid gland, it is producing too much thyroid hormone. Believed to be maybe a thyroid carcinoma, which is a malignant tumor, a cancer of the thyroid.
The treatment she has had up to now has not changed her blood readings enough, and the size of the enlarged thyroid has not decreased in size.
To enable Sabia and I to continue together, she needs further medical treatment as soon as possible. As this treatment is critical in trying to save her life.
An operation to take a biopsy of her gland, or, remove the gland during an operation, is the first step, if here confirmed to be a carcinoma, then for her to have a high dose of a treatment called Iodine-131, where she would have to then stay at the local Veterinary Hospital for a few weeks. Here I initially felt sad that I will not have her around at home for this period, but then it hit me hard - how would it be if she passed away.
So here I am asking for support to enable her to have the needed medical treatment, it has been estimated to be up to $4000.00
Sabia, along with three other strays that have found their way to my heart and home have cost me $20,234.40 over approximately the past ten years. I have usually gone without everything to finance the vet bills independently. As I have prioritised life over material things, but now it has come to a time I cannot sustain this, as I have a baby and young child to prioritise also.
Thank you for taking your time to read Sabia's story.
Sabia to have the medical treatment on her thyroid.
Also Sabia has an ongoing condition, feline tooth resorption, funds could support her ongoing medical treatments.
Any surplus, to support animals, I pay to a vulnerable animal organisation currently.
Sabia is still under the care of the vet 21 January 2020
Coming up soon, we will find out where to go from here, after she has been through some thorough testing.
Thank you for being part of supporting my wee Sabia to get the best care she deserves.
