Help me get to Lithuania and represent New Zealand at the World Junior Rowing Champs.
Waikato
During the week starting the 17th of May, 50 boys and girls from all over New Zealand underwent a rigorous trial to select this years NZ Junior Rowing Team. Of those 50 boys and girls that trialed a team of 21 were chosen. Fortunately I was one of those 21, and I have been named as the stroke in the NZ Junior Quad to compete at the World Junior Rowing Champs in Trakai, Lithuania. I set myself the goal to make this team at the closure of last years Junior Campaign in Rotterdam. To achieve this I stepped up into the Waikato RPC training environment. Rowing for this squad meant that I was training with many experienced NZ Junior, U23 and Elite athletes who all helped me grow as a rower and a person. I am very excited to represent the Silver Fern and make New Zealand proud.
The challenge in being selected to take part in such an incredible campaign is the cost. We are expected to contribute $6500 towards tour costs which covers food, flights, accommodation and equipment. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
