Every year we run the perimeter of Upolu Island to raise awareness and financial support for mental health in Samoa.
International
It is that time of the year again where our social running group, the Apia Hash House Harriers (AHHH), run/walk the perimeter of Upolu island in Samoa to raise awareness and funds for mental health in our small island community. In relay form, we pass the baton every 5km to complete 200km+ to support an under-serviced, yet well deserving cause.
Since 2009 the AHHH family have set out to support the Goshen Trust Mental Health Services Samoa, a non-profit organisation whose sole mission is to "provide care for people and families suffering with mental health challenges".
Last year, despite the difficulties being felt the world over, we proudly raised $41,000 Samoan tala with the help of family, friends and sponsors from near and far. This immense support has ensured the valuable care service provided by Goshen trust remains operational for those most in need in Samoa, especially through the most challenging of times.
We hope that our story inspires you to support this worthy cause and we thank you in advance for your generosity to join forces in standing up against stigma, speaking up, and running for mental health in Samoa and beyond!
I am a volunteer raising funds for this important NGO.
All monies raised will be donated to the Goshen Trust Mental Health Services Support to help them continue their extremely important works throughout our small island nation.
