Samuel is a 5yr old boy fighting the big fight against a fatal Muscle wasting disease ( DMD) who presents differently to most at his age - h

When our boy was 18months old, we were delivered news that would forever change our lives.
Our handsome boy had DMD otherwise know as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
DMD is fatal, there is no cure. The condition causes muscles to waste away. Life expectancy is in the 20’s.
Sadly for us, Samuel is one of the most sever cases seen. At 2yrs old he was using a power wheel chair, something not usually required until DMD boys teenage years. This rapid decline has continued. Samuel has a Mic key feeding tube as he no longer has the strength to eat enough to Sustain life.
Late last year a sleep study revealed his lungs are weakening, meaning he now needs bipap at night. A breathing machine to help him breath, something that doesn’t usually happen until much later on in the DMD journey, Samuel was 4 :(
On top of this Samuel also has GDD, global developmental delay. His life revolves around medical appointments, therapy and tube feeds.
Samuel is one of 3 children in our family. His older brother also has special needs and he has a younger sister.
Due to the complex needs of Samuel, the medical appointments and therapy it’s impossible for me (Samuels Mum) to work.
We have been thrown into a one income family with extra medical costs & would truly appreciate any help we can get.
Hospital stays mean we have no income during that time as one parent is with Samuel & one is with the other two children.
All funds raised will be used to help in these tough times & to make memories with Samuel while we still can.
I am Samuel’s Mum & as I watch his decline I will do everything to give him a happy fulfilled life.
Funds will go towards the extra essential costs we occur and memory making for Samuel.
Eg: petrol to appointments, insurance & upkeep of mobility van, extra power costs etc.
