Sandra has had cancer of the bowel & liver since Feb 15 and now there are no more treatment options. Funds raised are to support Charlie, 9.
Wellington
Sandra is a single Mum to Charlie, aged 9, and was diagnosed with cancer of the bowel, lymph nodes and liver in Feb 2015.
Sandra had to give up work as a teacher at Carterton Preschool Littlies as the treatment will reduce her immune system, and the children just love to share their illnesses.
UPDATE - Jan 2016
Sandra and Charlie travelled to the UK to be with family in July 2015 where there was the prospect of more treatment options. Further chemo did not work and on 8 January 2016 she received the devastating news that there are no further treatment options available. Time is now limited.
Funds raised are to provide for Charlie.
Friends of Sandra want to support her in any way we can. Giving her some financial peace of mind while enjoying her final days would be fantastic.
A final message 24 February 2016
Sadly, Sandra died at 5pm (UK time) on Thursday 18 February 2016.
In the end it happened rather quickly. She had been admitted to St Michael's Hospice, Hereford for pain management and they were almost on top of it to the point that she was potentially going back 'home' to her sisters' house.
However, having celebrated her 49th birthday on the Saturday, she took a turn for the worse late on Wednesday and died peacefully on Thursday. She was surrounded by her family.
A tragic loss of such a wonderful lady and a great mum to 9 year old Charlie. He is remaining in the UK until the end of the current school term (which is at Easter) and will then return to Carterton to live with Dad.
God bless.
